The first note of dissent in the Congress was heard from Pune. On January 1, supporters of Pune MLA Sangram Thopte vandalized the Congress office as they were not given the post of minister. Not only, Praneeti Shinde, daughter of former Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, was also excluded from the cabinet. Supporters of Thopte have written letters to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, while some have shown rebellious attitude towards the party.
